Hey there!

Thank you for visiting Milkyrose Dreams. I am an artist based in Minneapolis, MN. Growing up in a diverse family I was exposed to many different cultures, including Japan. I'll never forget eating my Aunt Yoshiko's fried rice growing up or helping her in her Orchid Garden, which she really made feel like her childhood home - growing up in Nagasaki.

Since my youth I've held her culture very dear to my heart and with the introduction to anime, this is where a lot of my inspiration comes from. Putting my imagination on canvas has really allowed me to connect with nature, with people and even connect with myself. At times, life can be pretty dark and I believe that by surrounding yourself with vibrant, happy colors and nostalgic scenery it can add that touch of positivity we all need to keep smiling and fighting each day.

One night, as I was looking out my window on the third floor I saw what looked like candy floss dancing on a jeweled sapphire sky and I wanted to capture that scene forever through my eyes. This is where my inspiration for "Candy Dreams" came from and this is where my artistic journey began.

All of my art is painted in acrylics on canvas and then I make those paintings into prints. Through this whole process, the joy of bringing sunshine and color to others became the drive to create even more.
